Dunaj

Why this particular wine?

Dunaj (named after the river Danube) is a Slovak autochthonous variety from the 1960s, which found its way to red wine lovers in Slovakia and around the world. At a time when the cold climate of Slovakia did not allow the production of competitive red wines, the Danube showed what potential it has. A wine of dark red color, full, with smooth tannins, which gradually matures to reveal aromas of sour cherries and plums. The 2022 Dunaj from the Mrva & Stanko winery is, from our point of view, one of the most successful vintages of this variety. Judge for yourself.
