An old saying goes that unity builds a house. Many wine-growing families in the Brda wine region of Slovenia realized this when, in 1957, they combined their strength, energy and knowledge and founded the Klet Brda wine cooperative right below Dobrovo Castle. Klet Brda spreads the fame of the Goriška Brda vineyards all over the world, as a large part of the Klet Brda wines are exported outside Slovenia.

The vineyards have been replanted, making the Brda region one of the best wine regions in the world. The cellar is approximately 15 meters underground and contains stainless steel tanks and Slovenian oak barrels. The winery brings together 400 families who have worked together for over fifty years and have made a success story out of local viticulture.

The winery has implemented organic and sustainable farming on its property to protect the nature and health of its vineyards. The vineyards cover an area of 1000 hectares and are planted on steep slopes, so most of the work is done by hand. The guiding principle in their daily activities is a deep respect for nature and its cycles, as they believe that superior quality is born in the vineyards.
