Fautor

The name Fautor comes from Latin and symbolizes "creator", as work in vineyards and wineries is a constant process of creation. The double "F" in the shield on the wine emblem represents the Fautor family and suggests the idea of safety and consumer confidence in the quality of the final product.

The vineyards of the winery cover an area of 350 ha, which is located in the south of the Republic of Moldova, in the Valul lui Traian wine-growing region. The vineyards include both international and local varieties (Feteasca Regală, Feteasca Neagră, Rara Neagră) and two unique varieties (Albariño and Tempranillo) unique to the area. The factors that enable the Fautor winery to create unique wines in the world are terroir, native varieties and an innovative approach. The special terroir of the Fautor vineyards is created by the Codrii Tigheci forest reserve and the terraces of the Prut river, which at the same time defines the border between Romania and Moldova. The winery focuses on the production of first-class quality wines, which annually win international awards and enjoy the recognition of consumers from different countries. For three years in a row, from 2017 to 2019, Fautor Winery has qualified as "Moldova's Most Awarded Wine Company" by winning the highest number of medals at international competitions. The high ratings obtained by Robert Parker Wine Advocate for several wines from the winery's portfolio opened a new page in the history of wines from Moldova.
