A full-bodied, full-bodied wine that you will be asking for more and more.

In the Slovak Novices collection, we bring you varieties of wines that we owe to the meticulous, tireless and patient work of Slovak grape breeders. The Libra variety is one of the mosaic links of the lifelong work of Ing. Dorothy Pospíšilová, CSs. and is a cross between Castets and Abouriou noir varieties.

Dark garnet colored wine. Aromatically, a very varietal wine with cabernet notes of green poppies and black currants. These smoothly transition into a balanced taste complemented by nuances of golden currant rootstock, cloven hooves and anise.

Shebo Winery

The story of our winery began in 1592, when Lukáš Šebo was born in the town of Modra. A direct line of winemakers is derived from him, which is currently represented by the eleventh generation of the Šebov family - brothers Eduard, Karol, Michal and Ján. We document the aforementioned centuries-old winemaking tradition not only with registry documents, but also with tax documents, which confirm that all our ancestors paid a tax from the vineyard every year. Visitors can see the family tree containing 396 names of the Šebov family in our family residence in Modra, where we regularly organize events aimed at promoting wine culture. In 1989, PhDr. Eduard Šebo decided to continue this tradition by planting large vineyards in the best locations in Slovakia. Our vineyards are located in three regions of Slovakia with unique climatic and soil conditions. We currently grow grapes on more than 500 hectares, and we make all our wine exclusively from grapes we grow ourselves. This allows us to control the production process from the vineyard to bottling, which guarantees the highest quality of our product. We currently offer our products on the market under 4 brands: Shebo Winery, Chateau Modra, Sekt Pálffy and Víno Nitra. They differ from each other by such parameters as the length of aging in the barrel, varietal structure, yield per hectare, vineyard area, grape sugar content, production process, or design. Thanks to this, we are able to offer the customer a variety of wines that meet the requirements of a specific target group.
